5-29-23 PA Again

Had a few hours Sunday Morning to get some fishing in. Left the house around 4:15am and headed for PA in search of wild brown trout in a smaller mountain stream. The morning was pretty foggy, I wasn’t planning on seeing much surface activity so I started out tight lining. The stream is small, with a lot of gradient, so lots of little pockets. I fished a perdigon point fly with a bwo emerger about 18” up on a tag. The moisture from the morning fog was causing my sighter to stick to the rod, which is always annoying but fortunately I didn’t have to do much distance casting on this stream. Had a lot of fun picking up small wild browns, mostly in the 6-10” range, but on this day managed to pick up a pretty nice one for the area. Was only there 2.5 hours but had to get home to watch the kids so that fish was a good one to end on. Great morning to get out and enjoy the outdoors for a bit.
